The second annual Art of Ethiopia exhibition took place at Sheraton Addis from September 3rd until September 6th 2009. Elegantly installed at the Lalibela Ballroom, the show included masterpiece after masterpiece by well-known and lesser-known artists.
Skunder Boghossian is the best know African artist. His permanent collection short list includes: The Museum of Modern Art, New York; Musee díArt Moderne, Paris; The Studio Museum in Harlem and the National Museum Of African Art, Washington. His formal training at the School of Paris influenced his skill but never touched his heart or imagination. Although he spent most of his adult life in America an only three years of that time in Ethiopia, he is the most Ethiopian of Ethiopian painters.
Alexander Boghossian
Alexander "Skunder" Boghossian (July 22, 1937 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – May 4, 2003 in Washington D.C.) was an Armenian Ethiopian painter
and art teacher. He spent much of his life living and working in the United States
