Art of Ethiopia at the Sheraton Addis, A Luxury Hotel

Art of Ethiopia 2010 will be exhibiting nearly 400 works of art from 40 of Ethiopia ’s leading established artists as of the 21st of August to the 24th of August 2010 at the five-star Sheraton Addis Hotel, A Luxury Collection Hotel, in the astonishing Lalibela Grand Ballroom from 10am until 10pm with entrance being complimentary. In addition to the well-know artists’ work which will be on display people will also get the opportunity to view the works of some exciting new talents showcasing the future of Ethiopian art.
The following 40 artists will be featured during the exhibition: leading and renowned Artist Laureate Maitre Afework Tekle, Ale Felege Selam, Worku Mammo, Abdurahman M. Sherif, Worku Goshu, Tadesse Belaineh, Bekele Abebe, Zerihun Yetmgeta, Desta Hagos, Tadesse Mesfin, Wosene Worke Kosrof, Teshome Bekele, Eshetu Tiruneh, Lulseged Retta, Sisay Beyene, Mezgebu Tesema, Getahun Assefa, Bisrat Shibabaw, Abyalew Assefa, Daniel Taye, Wondwossen Beyene, Girma Seboka, Teferi Mekonnen, Gizachew Kebede, Gizachew Kebede, Dawit Abebe, Mathias Lulu, Yosef Lule, Eskinder (Alex) Maffi, Kerima Ahmed, Yitagesu Mergia, Kohar Kevorkian, Afera Teklu, Merikokeb Birhanu, Yacob Bekele, Meron Ermias, Tewdros Hagos, Addis Gezehagn, Bitsuamlak Ashenafi, Aklilu Temesgen, & Nitsusew Terefe.
With the superb and colorful kaleidoscope of Ethiopia’s finest works of art on show we guarantee that this will be a most memorable exhibition for all to enjoy. The Sheraton Addis Hotel has also prepared a catalogue of the art works on display, along with biographies of each artist. The revenue made from these catalogue sales will go into the Sheraton Addis Art Endowment Fund, set up to support art initiatives in Ethiopia.
