He studied only one year at Alabama University to obtain an associate degree in physics, from University of Wisconsin, he graduated in Environmental Science/Biology with a B.Sc. degree and later with a Master’s degree in Microbiology. He also identified and cloned rare mammalian genes that could help in sequencing strategies for differentially expressed human biomarkers for certain diseases.
